Animation Fundamental Exercises

Lecture 1
27.08.19

actually, I missed first Animation Fundamentals classes because my timetable schedule was very chaotic at the time. This week I missed this lecture but based on my friend that Miss Anis explained the stop motion and the lecture can be seen in the Times.

fig 1.1 Example from lecture

based on the explanation that I read from the Times that we have to make a stop motion from some of the example material are Chalk drawings, rocks, marbles, play dough, found objects, flower petals, etc. this exercise is done in groups.

because I missed a few classes, so I was quite confused to do this exercise because I missed a lot of discussions with my friends. after that I came to class during the tutorial class and my friends would start working on these exercises. My friend gave me the task to make some parts in this stop motion using some material that they have such as toothpicks, small stones, petals, wires and others.

Lecture 2
17.9.19

This week is my first lecture class. If last week we had to make stop motion with existing material, now we have to make an animated bouncing ball. On this week Miss Anis explained timing, slow in slow out, squash and stretch, arcs of motion. These five things are some of the principles of animation. We were asked to explain the principles of animation through our own understanding.

After understanding the definition of the five principles of animation, we continued to make bouncing ball exercises. We were asked to choose specific types of balls that we would like to make animations for example basketball, tennis ball, or soccer ball by applying these five principles.

in this exercise, I decided to make basketball. besides that, Miss Anis allows us to use some software that we are more familiar with such as Photoshop or AfterEffect.

at first, I tried to use After Effect and that is the result of my work. after that, I tried using Ps

Project 2

the project is about metamorphosis in which one object turns into another object. for example like a caterpillar that morphed into a butterfly. besides that, Miss Anis gave another example in Times, which was a horse that turned into fish. in the work this time we were asked to make a metamorphosis from food forms to other foods. then we choose the food we choose and I choose a sandwich.

a friend after me draw an ice cream, so I have to make an animated metamorphosis of a sandwich to become ice cream

after that, we combine our metamorphosis final come into project 2

Flour Sack

This is from a tutorial class. Mr Hezry assigned us to make flour sack alive. I made a flour sack that jumped from the window to the table and walked out of the frame. in this animation I use Ps to draw a frame or sketch then I animate through Ae.

Walk Cycle

in this work, I should make people angry. but I lost the idea to make that. I use Ai intuĂ to make the sketch always for the animation I use Ae.
